Stress and trauma leave their mark on our bodies
Many studies show that prolonged stress, anxiety, or unexpressed emotional pain can quietly accumulate in the body and manifest as physical symptoms. These may include frequent headaches, back tension, digestive issues, heart palpitations, skin problems, sleep disturbances, persistent fatigue, or in some cases, even neurological symptoms such as temporary partial paralysis. These signals are often the body's way of expressing what has not yet been put into words.
🎨 Art-Therapy Support
I offer you a safe space where the invisible can become visible. Through art we:
Visualise pain: give shape and colour to the parts of the body that hurt.
Identify and express hidden anxieties: let emotions emerge through the creative process.
Listen to the body’s messages: each artwork becomes a bridge to understanding and self-liberation.
Research shows that art therapy can ease emotional stress and improve both mental and even physical health.
When we listen closely, our body tells us a story. With art, we can help that story surface, release buried emotions, and foster inner healing!
George, aged six, moved to Switzerland with his family after leaving his home country for work-related reasons. The long journey, the new surroundings, and being separated from his aunt and cousins were all felt as major upheavals. Shortly after arriving, George developed a form of functional paralysis.
